The Best Fudge I’ve Ever Eaten
Need I say more?
Probably not, but I will anyway.
Remember my brother, the keyboard player in my healthified holiday jingles video? Well, I wanted to find a yummy way to thank him for providing such beautiful background music for my silly lyrics. So I decided to make one of his all-time favorites: peanut butter fudge.
I was delighted when I discovered that fudge is shockingly easy to make!
Basically all I did was melt together peanut butter and regular butter, and then mix in some powdered sugar. And by “some,” I mean a lot. This recipe is not for those who make comments like, “This dessert is just too sweet for me.”
I spooned the mixture into a glass dish lined with parchment paper, then let it sit in the refrigerator until it cooled. Cut it up into bite-sized squares, and voila!
After one bite my brother said – and I quote – “this is the best fudge I’ve ever eaten.” Trust me, that means a lot.
The Best Peanut Butter Fudge
Seen on Erin’s Food Files, originally from Alton Brown
Ingredients
1 cup butter
1 cup peanut butter
1 tsp vanilla
1 lb. powdered sugar
1. Place butter and peanut butter in a large microwave safe bowl; microwave for 2 minutes on high.
2. Stir and microwave on high for another two minutes.
3. Add vanilla and powdered sugar; stir to combine with a wooden spoon (mixture will be thick).
4. Spoon into an 8 X 8 pan lined with parchment paper and sprayed with nonstick spray. Place a second piece of parchment paper on top of the fudge and refrigerate until cool.
5. Cut into 1-inch pieces. Can be stored in an airtight container for up to one week.
Have you ever made your own fudge before?
What’s something you’ve cooked or baked that turned out to be way easier to make than you expected?

Ohhhhh- gotta make this!
oh man. that is just too easy!
looks so good.i’d have to use a non-dairy “butter”, but that is NO prob.
i have made my own fudge before….HEAB’s 3 ingredient coconut milk fudge.
the easier the recipe the better! thanks for sharing this
Just peanut butter, butter and sugar mixed together? That’s a trifecta of yum right there.
So true!
That is so easy!!! My mom’s peanut butter fudge involves cooking condensed milk, sugar, and more on the stove and then mixing in peanut butter.
Another simple fudge recipe is to melt a bag of chocolate chips (or peanut butter or butterscotch – it’s up to you) and then stir in an entire container of cake frosting. Place the mixture on a plate to cool, and you have a fudge that is SO interesting and creamy due to the cake frosting in it.
Sounds delicious!
I don’t think I even like peanut butter fudge, and I loved it!
I don’t understand people who say desserts are too sweet for them. That’s just plain wrong. LOL
Wow, I had no idea fudge was so simple (as far as ingredients go). I remember when we went to the Amusement Park, the first thing I would always go for was either Chocolate PB fudge or S’mores fudge. Yummmm!
you have peanut butter and you have fudge…how could you ever go wrong?!
mmm I just had some of this last weekend and it was superb! I like it with added peanuts for that extra crunch!! I love easy no bake recipes!
That extra crunch sounds delicious!
YUM!!! I had no idea that fudge was so easy to make. And trust me – I’m not one of those people who will EVER say something is too sweet
Awe, I’m one of those people who makes the “too sweet” comments. I love sugar, just not really /sweet/ sugar. However! I have a potential solution.
1) Make half batch of super-sweet peanut butter fudge.
2) Make half batch of super-bitter dark chocolate fudge.
3) Layer.
PERFECT!
Yeah…not a fudge fan LOL But I do love peanut butter and chocolate together!
Ah fudge, one of my (many) weaknesses! I’ve never made PB fudge before, but I make a chocolate almond one that is divine!
Don’t you love when you can make a delicious recipe that looks impressive and tastes great? Oreo Truffles (from the Kraft website) are like that – everyone always requests them for holidays, birthday parties, etc. and they DISAPPEAR, but they only take a little while to make. Baking is one of my favorite “unwind” activities, so I find myself making complicated desserts…but then I’m at a loss when I need a couple fail-safe treats in high volume (like for holiday baking at work – can you tell what I’m doing this weekend!).
Haha I love it! I’ve gotta check out that Oreo Truffle recipe!
I usually don’t like chocolate fudge (too chocolately for me) but this definitely looks wroth trying:)
Huh, wow… fudge without marshmellow cream. I’m shocked… like I didn’t know you could make it without it lol.
Oooh this looks amazing -I just made fudge for the first time last month and was shocked at how easy (and good) it was!
You can’t go wrong with adding sugar and butter to peanut butter. Yummy!
Along with the “this dessert is too sweet for me,” sometimes I hear, “this dessert is too rich for me.” Now, THAT is something that doesn’t happen to me.
I make some pretty easy and delicious fudge (only 3 ingredients-hooray!) as well as the famous oreo truffles that have been floating around the internet. Friends and family always ooh and aah over them, but they really are simple (but time-consuming.)
I really want to try making those oreo truffles!
That looks really good and very addicting
I actually just wrote a post about making chocolate peppermint bark and how it is surprisingly easy to make. It makes me realize how overpriced things can be at the store when making them at home costs next to nothing!
Oh no you dIH-nt!! Ok I seriously don’t talk like that, but those are the words that popped into my head when I saw and read “peanut butter fudge.” I didn’t realize it was possible to drink a beverage and salivate at the same time until now. That combination looks orgasmic…as cliche as that may sound. You put PB in anything and I am all there! I’m almost afraid to make this!
PS – I absolutely LOVED your jingles! You are so incredibly creative…
I’ve never been a big fan of fudge, but I do love how easy it is and it makes a great gift because, like you said, it seems much harder than it is!
I’m pretty much always surprised at how easy things are because for many years I avoided cooking assuming everything was too complicated for me! I’m learning to make more recipes and am usually pleasantly surprised when I can accomplish them (and they are edible!)
once u get a taste of peanut butter fudge, theres no going back. never ever going back hehe <3
So true!
This one is going on the must-make list!!
